2010-2011: Thanksgiving is for Giving
November 25, 2010
On a morning where most teens were sleeping in, our eighth grade students donned hairnets and latex gloves to serve turkey and all the trimmings to patients and staff at Nyack Hospital. This is the 12th year that students and alumni have volunteered at the hospital.
Rabbi Scott Bolton, RGHDS Head of School, said that the annual Thanksgiving volunteer day enables the student community to bring joy to patients during a time when most people are with their families.
“We are so proud of our students for making a difference in the lives of those who were unable to be with their loved ones during Thanksgiving. Activities like this really help them to build character,” said.
“Plus it was fun,” said Jake Roth, one of the eighth grade volunteers. “I like giving back.”
